Updated coins with bears

I was looking at the last time I posted about my coins with bears collection and it was looking pretty dated, so I thought I'd do an update.

I like bears. You might be able to guess this from my avatar (based on a photo I took at the Brookfield Zoo near Chicago). One of the many things I collect is coins with bears on them. The coins have to be somewhat reasonably priced (no $3,000 gold coins in here) and there are some I won't buy if I don't like the way the bear looks on the coin. I also try not to buy fantasy coins, though I do have a few token, medals, etc. here. My oldest bear coin is from 1621 from St. Gallen, Switzerland and the newest at this point is 2024. Probably Canada has more than any other country.

Very nice. I guess we can say you never met a bear you didn't like. Seriously many of these are very attractive to me.

 

Believe it or not, I have one also.....
