Just got a couple in today. I've not seen a whole lot of these, but that doesn't mean there isn't a bunch around. I think it's purdy kool! (part B will follow soon) POST YOUR COINS AND COMMENT PEEPS! Marcus Aurelius denarius. Victory placing VIC PAR shield on palm tree reverse..17mm 3.14gms. ref: RIC 163, C.878

Super cool @ominus1 ! There’s no doubting that message! Victory Parthia (over Rome...) PARTHIA Orodes II 57-37BC AR Drachm 18mm 3.3g - Killed Crassus - poured gold down his gullet - Ekbatana mint stars crescent Arsakes on throne bow anchor Sellwd48.9
O, kool coin Brian....i love that reverse, him looking down the bow! wow...i've heard of that story...that's him eh? wow!!
Naw, that reverse is with a VIOLINIST ! Yeah, ole Crasses was the richest man in Rome, and he still did not have enough! Caesar took him for a ride for his money, then the Parthians fed him a little gold... Cool scene in Netflix Season 2 of Roman Empire... I chuckled because an opening scene had Roman Cavalry with STIRRUPS! Faux Pas !
ahaha...funny you should say that cause i was gonna type "when ya get down the fiddle and ya git down da bow">< (great minds 9_9)
It's a very attractive coin -- it's well-centered and with complete legends; it has nice surfaces and nice toning. Definitely a keeper!
I don't watch this show (and don't plan to), but I believe this is due to safety reasons for the actors. If I remember right, this was the case in Gladiator as well. Whenever I see them in this kind of context, even though they are inaccurate I give stirrups a pass for this reason.
actually, it was @TIF, along with others here, plus my fixation on those darn 5 "good"uns..that got me started, but i love it

thank you very much..you say this coin is history themed.. you know more about it than i... would you share your knowledge with us RC?..i got it mostly because it was different..
Aw, they are weenies. Rode saddless /stirrupless as a kid all the time. Besides, in this day and age, they can digitize the stirrups OUT of the scenes.
It would probably cost them something crazy like $50,000 per stirrup to do that, so I can imagine why they don't do it
