Can't seem to find anything on this one. The reverse looks like it it handpainted. Thoughts? Value? Is this worth something or nothing?

Enameling wasn't all that uncommon on British coins from the late Victorian and Edwardian era. The practice of enameling coins was extremely popular during the 1880s. The most commonly enameled coins from what I've seen are those issued for Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee in 1887 or those with Boehm's Jubilee head design, which were issued until 1893. However, I've never seen a young-head half-crown with enameling before.

I have a few enameled coins myself, at my home though otherwise I would attach a photo. I have not ever seen one on such an old coin though.

Its not a Jubillee head its a Young Head.

Enamelling was quite common, many turn up in coin hoards or collections

It was usually Jubilee Head Shillings that suffered this fate.

Scrap silver value rather than any numismatic value.

I know some people collect them so may be worth above silver to the right person. That said the coin picture doesn't look well done so unlikely to have much of a premium
