This bronze coin of Emperor Constantius II is rated by RIC as C3. It belongs to the series of the Fallen Horseman - RIC VIII Ant 153, with theta as officina. The point is the face of the Emperor which is unusual to me , as you can see. I don't know either what he's wearing on his head. As for the reverse, it seems also a little bit different in general whereby the shield of the horseman is almost inside the exergue. Please post your opinions and views what so ever. Thanks.. Is that a die break along the front of the face? Is there a faint nose just right of the ragged line? It almost looks like that obverse die was used beyond the useful life. Why?

Thanks DS. I already suspected the presence of a die break. Is this common with the series of the Fallen Horseman. Would you notice anything on the reverse?

You don't typically see the shield right next to the mint-mark, so that's an interesting engraver's variation.
