I am new to Coin Talk, and coin collecting.

I found this 1972 d in the bag of coins my mother gave me.

I noticed the gap between George's neck and his pigtail. None of the others had space between.

In addition, the other side of the coin has a wide edge on the upper left side.

Are these errors? What do you think?

The gap in back of the neck looks like damage to me.
The reverse is a result of a slightly misaligned die. Nothing special or valuable.

    Welcome vrssr

The gap between the neck and the pigtail looks like it may be from overpolishing of the die that struck the coin. Sometimes the mint workers will polish a die to remove damage from it like say a clashed die.
