Unsure if these are errors or post mint damage?

Alright, I have two here that I'm not sure about... I'm not exactly up to date on all the kinds of errors that are out there so maybe someone can help me out with these because googling has given me little result

The first coin is a 1976 quarter.... it looks like it was smashed with something... because its damaged on both sides of the coin in the same spots... (The edges) .. however the entire middle of the coin is completely intact on both sides and shows no signs of being smashed like the edges... if you look at it from the side you can clearly see gouges in the coin where part of it is wider than the rest... this is where the "T" in "United" is at and the coin almost looks cracked..

The second is a 2001 Kentucky State Quarter... the entire thing looks like its blurred/oil/grease was in the die... the closest guess I have for it after searching is possibly a weak strike? I honestly have no idea.. both sides are the same... and the entire side of the coin has no reeding on it... its completely smooth (Hard to see in picture, sorry)

The first one just looks like a damaged coin and the second looks like it took a swim in some acid. Sorry no extra value, spend them.
