it's been covered before, about coin vault, littleton et al but the ad from national collector's mint in the june 16 ,2006 issue of us news & world report takes the cake. some of the quotes:"direct from locked vaults to u.s. citizens!","the rarest ones have been sold for $529,000.00.","some of the last surving "morgan's" still in existense in all the world.",each coin in this release is guaranteed to be in mostly brilliant uncirculated to fine condition." ready for the price? 1 silver dollar for $19.90 plus $4 shipping. oh yeah,i forgot. according to the ad,jesse james may have stolen the very silver dollar you're going to get. sounds like some of jesse's desendants may be in on this deal.

You want to bet on how many coins in fine shape versus uncirculated!! And on what dates you might get. :D Just guessing, most from the 1880,s, mabey a 79 thrown in.

    Unscrupulous? YES

    Misleading? PERHAPS

    False? UNFORTUNATELY, NO

My motto is "Caveat Emptor" (Let the buyer beware). The world is filled with snake-oil salesmen. This sounds like another pitch to get ignorant people to buy their worthless wares at inflated prices. Steer clear!

Sad but true. And it often robs the hobby of good collectors once they find out how badly they've been fleeced.
