I have just run across this token and there isn't much to identify it. For the token detectives, this will be a challenge...I've given up. I can say that it is similar to a Mexican Car Wash token I found, at least with the 2 outer edge designs, but the crown and coat of arms throws me. Only thing to identify it is the initials v b in the design. It has a smooth edge and appears to be made of brass. In measuring it, it appears to be 27mm in diameter.
If anyone is familiar with this, I'd appreciate identifying it. I don't believe its a coin. Thanks for any help you can give....Bill

    Very nice.

I've not seen this specific token before. I'd guess it's either a stock US amusement token from the '80's or a stock British amusement token from the '70's.

I doubt it's common in the US.

It's value would be limited though.

Stock tokens are issued in lieu of those issued for a specific establisment when these are ordered or bysmall establishments that can't afford their own token. They tend to be pretty common but not always.

I have to agree that the emblems on the obverse and reverse seem to point to British origin, but the design around the outside looks like the Mexican Car Wash token I found. Could be, like you said, just a stock token produced for multiple purposes, but It would be interesing to find out more about it. Thanks for the reply, and I learned a new term "Stock Token". That might help in researching other tokens..Bill

Wow, a lot of research and suggestions, but this coin/token still remains a mystery. Even identifying where it might have been used or for what purpose would be a help. I was thinking that it might even be a token from one of those old dinner places where they do jousting and the like..lots of speculation and no solution.

If others have been found in this country that's a better guess than my initial one.

It is of an amusement token type but these used widely.,

Well, for anyone interested, I think I've found this token, and it is a token. Its the same design as a standard token produced by www.tokensdirect.com...

Its their standard token #1521. But I don't know what it was used for...probably a carwash, but could have been for anthing the buyer wanted it for. One Mystery solved. Actually, their designs page would be a great bookmark for anyone collecting tokens.....Bill

I have the same token in my collection. I always thought it was a common token possibly used for anything from parking garages to ammusement parks. I will print Poetheraven1's post & keep it with the token now.

It looks like a combination of a 1521 and 0836 from their catalog. Very nice info poetheraven1!
