Thanks as always for anybody stopping bye...Found this penny this weekend roll hunting. If anybody knows anything about the stamp i'd love your input...I think its a Shriner or maybe a Mason Stamp...but not really sure. My sister said it looked like something evil...LOL...but any input would be greatly appreciated. Also the reverse look like it had bad damage but i swear i also so a roof top stamp in the middle of the Lincoln Memorial building. I'm sure its just my eyes wanting to see something but i'd love any opinions....What i think i see... is whats circled in red. Thanks again everybody and Happy Hunting =)o_O;):pompous:

On the front it's definitely a Shriner's emblem. I see these quite often for sale on eBay.

On the back, I can't be sure at all, but it appears that someone may have tried to put something there but I have absolutely no clue as to what it may be.
Actually, it may just be damage. That penny may have been stuck to something at one time. Some possibilities to explain that look are : glue residue, zinc rot, effects from cleaners, someone may have laid something on the coin and then hit it with a hammer.
If the coin could talk it could tell us, otherwise we will probably never know.

The reverse is damage inflicted on the coin from the punch on the obverse. When counterstamps are struck on a coin, there are almost always telltale marks on the other side. That's what you have, Lucky Coin.

The punch and die used on this dime were made by a retired Philadelphia Mint employee.
