Unknown Silver

    I found this coin in a lot of uncleaned ancients. It was completely covered both sides with some thick hard white material. I have taken a long time to prep it. It appears to be silver all the way through. No pattern at all. Then what looks like the number 2 shows up. Any ideas would be very helpful.

    Looks a lot like a Hungary 2 filler, but it wouldn't be silver...

    I think that is it. I wonder how it got in a lot of ancients.

    The metal detectorist probably found it in the general area of the Empire.

    It´s a 2 filler coin from Hungary, probably made of iron or zinc.
    It´s not ancient, these were coined from the ending of XIX century up to mid-XX century if I recall correctly.

    yes, zinc makes more sense, since it had a thick white deposit on it.

    I think I can see a B under FILLER, which would make it Budapest rather than Kremnitz as a mint so likely a later emission than WW1.
