South Korea 100 Won. KM. 35.1 Admiral Yi Soon-Shin Composition Copper Nickel Mintage 8,000,000 Exchange rate with US$ is about 1100:1
thanks I work at a tobacco store and have been finding odd littl coins here and there... well, so far only 3 - just adding them to the collection now - along with the 1945 silver half dollar and a sacagewean (I cannot spell that to save my life) gold dollar from 2k. I just found it odd that a Korean (thanks again, I tried everything!) coin would show up in a register draw in Maumelle, Ark!
Fun find. As for how it came into your cash drawer? My best guess would be a GI returned home from being stationed in Korea. The 100 Won coin is about the same size as the Washington quarter so might easily get mixed up in pocket change.
