I got this coin many months ago but could not find anything about it. This coined peaked my interest because of its unusual looks. I thought it is rare coin, even though in bad condition.
Please help me find more about the coin.

It's PMD - Post Mint Damage
    Someone grounded down the edge.
    Not a Mint Error

These are made of cupro nickel, with a copper core. They aren't plated. What would make you think it is rare?

Your coin was not ground down, it has been pressed somehow. Like in a vice.
If you put another dime on top of it you will see that it is larger and not round.
And yes it is rare for the fact that there is not another one just like it, but that
Does Not make it valuable at all.

It could be the image quality, but the the 1st thing that came to mind is dullness of the metal itself. It looks like lightly oxidized lead. If that is the case, someone did a good job of casting, as I don’t see any evidence of microbubbles on this piece.

    You won't because it's a genuine dime.

I have a couple of them in my "mangled and mutilated" box that I use for educating customers who bring me damaged coins thinking they are errors.

they all look the same. Wish I could give a definitive reason for it but I can't. It may be a number of things but strange how they look so much alike.

A dime works as a good screw driver, for the old flat head screws.

How do you know for sure without examining it?

It's entirely a matter of certainty and opinion.

Even with in-hand examination, there is only a degree of certainty whether a coin is genuine or not.

As far as a mutilated copper/nickel clad dime goes, I can say, with just a good, clear photograph that I have a very high degree of certainty that it is a genuine item.

Examining the pic is enough. It is a genuine damaged dime. I seriously doubt you will ever come across a counterfeited Roosevelt dime.

Both dimes in this thread were damaged outside the Mint. The first dime's perimeter was crushed while the second dime has its perimeter ground down.
