Unknown roman emperor of ancient bronze dupondius

    Just about impossible but it does have a Flavian appearance to the portrait. Maybe Vespasian. BTW, its an As, not a Dupondius. Dupondii have a radiate crown, the As a laurel wreath.

    You're asking for a miracle. I was leaning towards Domitian, but wouldn't bet against Mr. Dorney

    My first thought was Vespasian, but it could just be because a worn down coin resembles a bald head.

    Yep. Fat head, small neck. Vespasian was the first thing to come to my mind, too.

    I should add, though, that I would never positively ID a coin based on a guess like that. I'd just label it something like "Roman AE As, 1st-2nd century A.D." Then I'd find some kid to give it to in the hope of getting him or her excited about ancient coins.
