Howdy Grimm - Welcome to the Forum !!

What you have is known as a "good for token" minted and issued by a private enterprise - it is not a coin. We have a member here who knows a great deal about tokens, wait for him to stop by and he can give you additional info.

I checked out Bone's lead, and there is no listing for a Ralph Husted token in Rapid City, nor anywhere else in my South Dakota reference. In researching the web a bit, I came across a Ralph Hustead as graduating from the Camden County Vocational & Technical School in Pennsauken, NJ in 1930, but I do not believe there are any token reference books for New Jersey. There is also a business man in Indiana by that name, but I do not have an Indiana book either, and am not sure if one even exists. Mavericks (tokens without a location) can be very difficult to identify at times. A photo may be helpful, or look closely for some identifier (perhaps a name or initials in very small letters) of who may have produced the token.
