    Unknown Coin, Crusades? w/pics

Just got this coin and cannot determine where it is from, think it is from the crusades. The words around the edge are difficult to determine but appear to be on the cross side:
a cross then "sepatimvs" "boemvndvs" "comes"
The shield side with 3 towered castle?
a cross then "civitas:" "tripolis" "syrie" (tripoli and syria?)

It weighs 7.4 grammes and 2.5 cm in diameter.

Update - Found it, it is from the crusades about 1280 and is called a gros. It does not have the correct weight tho as most I have found weigh in at 4.3ish grammes. It is probably a fake unless there was a heavier coin that I have not found out about yet. Oh well only paid a couple of pounds for it.

    Daz,
If it's real, this is probably your coin:
    Bohemond VII (1275-1287)
Gros, Type 2, 4.16g, XSEPTIMVS: BOEMVNDVS:COMES, cross within dodecafoil, rev. XCIVITAS: TRIPOLI:S:SYRIE, three-towered castle within dodecafoil, triple pellet stops on obv. and rev. (PT 61, M 497-498 var.), good very fine £100...Here's the website:

You're right about the weight tho...much too heavy.

Incidentally, the name sounded familiar so I looked through my album and found a coin of a guy that I guess is the great-great grandfather of your guy.Two interesting things about it.He's wearing chain mail and helmet and the Islamic-type crescent moon on the reverse.
