can't identify the origin of this coin--
it is about the size of a dime, slightly oblong, and appears to be bronze.
it has a sort of heiroglyphic that appears to be a bird with 2 long thick legs and three lines for a tail; dots, wavy lines, and a geometrical shape that looks like a box with a symmetrical stick figure in it.
it doesn't have anything on the reverse side.
the coin looks primitive but not crude.

That, and the apparent lack of any legends, are strong indications that it is a token, game piece, medal, or other exonumia item. But, as in so many other cases, a picture would be helpful.

That is almost undoubtedly a Cambodian 2 pe coin (KM-11?), or perhaps a 1 fuang, of the mid 1800's. There are several varieties that can be seen in the 19th century edition of the Standard Catalog of World Coins.

[IMG] And once again Tbirde reminds me of the huge gaps in my numismatic knowledge.

You ARE too modest Roy! You have knowledge in Japanese numismatics that I can't even come close to and you are far more equal in the rest of it than you would ever admit!
