I am looking to buy an old gold dollar. i have been unsucsessfull at finding an online dealer that carries what i am looking for.... so -- can anyone post the dealers they frequent that carry US gold ?? much appreciate your help!!
Daggarjon, you can also keep your eyes open for what you're looking for on Teletrade or Heritage. Both also have want-list type features and they'll email you when what you're looking for comes up for auction.
Thank you Mark_h and Doung, i bookmarked both those sites to keep an eye on. tcore - i reguraly check both teletrade and heritage, and so far neither have what i am looking for. i didnt know about the email want-list, so i will look into that in a bit, thank you.
Very nice CentDime - they did indeed have 2 examples, but way over my pricepoint. I just want an example, i dont need the top pop coin lol - disclaimer .. i would love to have the top pop coin, but resolve myself to never being able to afford it.
Daggarjon, can you tell us specifically what you're looking for that you're not able to find? Type 1, 2 or 3... certain year and mint mark, etc.?
i was being secretive on purpose its kinda rare, and dont want someone else taking an interest if i express my specific desire
actually, i wasnt lol but when i saw your thread, it did make me jump to see what you were looking for
lol i am going crazy trying to find that piece at a reasonable price and aquality coin so if you see it let me know will you? thanks.
will do. i certainly understand your desire. the coin i am looking at i can only afford in the v/g to fine range. anything else costs thousands of dollars that i do not have. Heck, im not even sure i would have the money for the v/g-fine range..but i really want the coin lol
I totally understand. I have not mentioned what I was looking for before as well, for fear that someone else would go and get what I wanted. No reason to stir up more interest so that you have to pay more. Some of the coins we want can be pretty elusive. I was looking for an 1849 Small Head No L Gold Dollar a while back. It was hard to find. I finally went to a show with about 200 dealers and saw 1 coin...so I bought it! Good luck!
looks like both of us will be singing after work to pay for the coins i suggest we start a band called the private mint
