    PCGS MS62. Cert. #44147914.

    Numista-23124, Krause-Mishler-130.

    Mintage: 505,500.

Ex-Michael Swoveland, dba WNC Coins, LLC, Asheville, NC, 21 February 2022. purchased in the slab.

This is an attractive example of the Indian Head $10 gold piece designed by sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens. I believe it is strong for the assigned grade. I was also pleased to get a 1911-dated coin, because that was the birthyear of my paternal grandmother Jean Norton Shinnick (1911-1980), who was an important influence on me when I began collecting coins as a child.

This coin has more than doubled in value since I purchased it in early 2022. Much of that is due to the increase in gold bullion value, of course, but I think I also got it for a pretty good purchase price at the time.

I'd say this one has gone up almost 2.5x since I bought it.
