I posted on here a week or so back with 3 Roman coins. Two had lots of detail, and I could identify. This is the worst of the three. Any ideas please?

Hard to tell from a very black coin and a poor picture (or the contrary), but it looks like it could be a Constantine II LRB of that type :

Thanks. Sadly it is the coin rather than the photo. Not for the front of my album:thumb:

Yeah, I think you're not going to be able to get much further than what Cucumbor told you in that condition. I agree that it appears to be Constantine II as Caesar. If I remember correctly, Constantine I started issuing these coins with one standard rather than 2 not long before his death, and the obverse legend tells us that it was definitely during his lifetime (Constantine II became an augustus upon the death of his father), so I'm pretty sure that this dates from 336 or 337.

It may be my imagination but I think the mintmark may be TR = Trier which is generally followed by a space with a dot and then either P or S for the workshop. I do not own an example of this coin but offer a similar one of Constantine I. Compare the reverse bottom of the coin with mine and see if you think yours could be Trier.
