I have attached a scan of a token i have in my possession. As it has Suisse on it, i am assuming that it is swiss. Can anyone tell me its history, value and where it would have been used. It is dated 1703 but does not look like it was made back then. Thanks for any help

The cross on that medal is not the Red Cross but the Swiss Cross. :) Don't really know what that piece is, but I agree it's not 300 years old.

Around the "six pence" value it says in French "Founded on 27 December 1703". On the other side you have the inscription "Mutual Society of the Swiss in London". Now a "société mutuelle" is usually an insurance company, but I have no idea what it refers to in this case ...

This could be it ... the Swiss Benevolent Society. If you look at its website http://www.swissbenevolent.org.uk/ (see "The Society" --> "History"), you will see that its roots go back to 1703, the year mentioned on your token:

1703 Foundation of the 'Société des Suisses'

Maybe you can contact the SBS and ask them if they know anything about this piece ...
