    Hi,

I need some help identifying these two coins, presumably Chinese. The first one is aluminium and the date says something like 1930 (but written 1900 + 3?) so I'm not sure. The second one is copper and appears to say 1940.

    Images are attached.

    Both coins are Japanese.

I can read the kanji (Chinese characters) but do not have any expertise in Japanese coinage.

The small coin has a denomination of "one yen" and is dated "Heisei 3" which, I think, translates as the year 1991.

The larger coin has a denomination of "ten yen" and is dated "Showa 40" which, I believe, is the year 1965.

Hopefully, one of our forum members familiar with these coins can confirm the dates.

Thanks. With those Chinese characters, I assumed it was Chinese and read it as such. No wonder the unit of currency and date order confused me!
