I have just received a small Annamese bronze or copper coin which I tentatively id'd as Thieu Phong Binh Bao (Toda 19), but on closer examination, I think that is not correct, and I can't find anything in Toda which looks more like it. Reverse is blank.

It was sold to me as being from a private mint. Maybe this is correct.

    Any ideas, anyone?

I know absolutely nothing about Annamese coins.

But, reading the inscription in Chinese and then quickly trying to find the equivalent in Vietnamese I would identify the coin as "Tri Thanh Binh Bao" (1064-1067 AD).

A similar coin can be seen here.

    Thanks gary.

I agree with your identification - the coin in the link is almost identical. Mine is 22.0mm compared with 21mm.
