Corpus Nummorum Italicorum (CNI) is available online. It is the catalog of the collection of Vittorio Emmanuelle III and is the most extensive listing of Italian coins available. http://www.numismaticadellostato.it/web/pns/iuno-moneta/biblioteca/corpus
Thanks for posting this. King Vittorio Emmanuelle III was a great collector of coins and he was in the prefect position to get the best of the best.
I'm a big time collector of Italian coins and it should be noted that this Italian King was the one behind all the beautiful Italian coins that were minted during his long reign 1900-1943. Prior to his reign, Italian coins were rather plain. Being a coin collector himself and being the King he was able to get what he wanted. What I did not like about his reign is he shrunk the size of Italy's silver coins.
Interesting link. Not a big fan of Emmanuel III, however. He sold out the Italian people (including my cousins in Reggio Emilia), first to the fascists and later, to the Nazis. At least he eventually donated his great collection to the Italian nation. guy
