I still do not like the design - but since the majority voted for it ... Good to know however that finally all coins from that series are now available. One dealer I often buy from has been offering a set of all 10 Years Euro/EMU coins, but since customers who had ordered the set became a little impatient, he decided earlier this month to ship all except Italy. I picked up some nice 2 euro coins from circulation, I like the designs of the ones I got. Seems like most of the coins I get are Austrian(of course), then German and Spanish. But I have picked out a Slovenian coin on my last trip.
One piece that is a little different from the others is the coin from Luxembourg. The others just have that euro-stickman design; the LU issue adds (via MultiView Minting) the portrait of the Grand Duke. https://eshop.bcl.lu/pics/13_09_202.jpg Not that I am terribly fond of the requirement to have Henri on each and every coin. But in this particular case ... well, it makes a dull set of coins a tiny little less dull. And yes, when I first read about a common €2 issue which commemorates 10 years of the euro, and the public design vote which would determine the winner, I thought that would be neat. But when the winning design was announced a little more than a year ago, I was quite disappointed. On to the next issue. Christian
