Uhm ??? 1944 w dime ???

    bought a bunch of coin rolls from the bank today and as I was sifting through dimes this popped out at me a 1944 W dime and it’s not a rosevelt

    That W is part of the stylized monogram of the engraver Adolph A. Weinman.

    As stated above the W is the initial of the designer. On Mercury dimes the mint mark would be located on the reverse to the right of ONE of one dime yours does not have a mint mark so therefore it was minted in Philadelphia.
