You're probably better off not going . If he had anything decent he'd of said what he had . Gold plated means junk . But it's your time and money , if you can get your dad to take you . Just don't be too disappointed if it turns out to be worthless . JMHO

Be happy you're not closer since this almost certainly is a sucker bet. Just a few days ago in the last craigslist thread, I told you it's full of dreamers, wannabies, and cons, and is a great place to namelessly unload junk on those blinded by the deal mentality or do not know better. Don't allow yourself to be one of these people. Think about it: this guy said little about the coins and pushed the idea that you could make money, which is classic CL sucker fishing. Don't bother.

He is asking $850 for some random world coins, not even mentioning countries, years or grades? "Silver content unknown" could mean non-existent, right? I have to agree with the others :)

99% chance its all junk and probably worth less than half his asking price imo

He's done research for months yet can't explain what he has..... hmmmm.

You guys think trying to make a $825 profit from $25 (if that) worth of coins is a bad deal, lol? I think the OP would be much better off going to the LCS and cherry picking his own coins from the "10 for a dollar" bucket.

So look at what the Craig's list guy did:
    • Told you he's willing to sell ~$1500 worth of coins for only $850!
    • Didn't take the time to take good photos
    • But DID take the time to browse eBay for each and every coin he has for sale to determine the value of the lot
    • Willing to throw in stock certificates and fails to disclose the company
Bottom line, if these coins were worth anything, he would have taken the time to list them on eBay individually. Run as fast as you can.

You want a good place to put your $850?

Look back at all of the deals you've bought, and starting with your biggest losers, sell them until your losses add up to $850.

At the end of that effort, you'll probably have a lot more money to work with, and much more importantly, you will have refreshed your memory of the mistakes made, and not to repeat.

Then you'll be better prepared than before to move forward with good judgement, good money and good purchases.
