i wonder the mint right now selling the "last chance" coins. those 2000 pc. coin-bag dated many years ago. are those still be brilliant uncirculated?. are some of the coins might be toned, change to different colors, dark, black spot, heavy scratch and so forth?. are the mint keep those bags in a safe and free from carbonated?. should we buy them?. anyone bought before some bags from the mint. please help me. thanks.
Howdy consider - Welcome to the Forum !! Yes the coins would still be uncirculated. Yes they may well be toned, heavily marked or spotted. Could you find some nice coins in those bags ? Yes, but you may just as easily not find any either.
thank you GDJMSP. i don't mind scratched, heavily marked or spotted. i am worrying toned, changing colors, and black spotted. cause i am talking about the 2004 sacagawea uncirculated dollars offered from the mint. secondly, if i open it up and choose the good one or if i just check it and keep everything originally. and close the bag. is there any way that people will know that i have been open it up?.
to conder101 is it alright to open it and choose the good one. put every coin in a coin tube. which one will have better price in the future?. 2,000 coin inside the original bag or 80 tubes with 2,000 coin?. what about those coins turn dark, spotted, toned, heavily marked, change to different colors. will someone willing to buy them in the future?. or maybe at bargain price?.
Given that the 2000 Sacky was minted in huge numbers - over 1.2 billion - it is extremely unlikely that the coins will ever have any value over $1 unless they are ultra-high grades. And the odds of finding one in a bag is basically 0.
to GDJMSP but we are talking about 2004 d sacagawea uncirculated coins. those were not for general circulation. and the mint sold it at premium. and the market value sell as high as $7.50 each for a face value of $1.00. are those coins even with toned or heavily marked be worth $1.00 only?.
My mistake - apologies. To be quite honest with you I think that buying bags of these coins from any year/mint with the hope that they will someday be valuable is not a good idea. Those who are paying premiums for these coins are taking a large gamble that will likely not pay off. You'd have far better odds going to a casino or playing the lottery with the money you'd spend on them. That said, if you could find coins with attractive toning, that would be your best bet. For there are quite a few people who will pay handsome premiums for attractively toned coins. But there are very few Sackys with attractive toning. If the coins are spotted, you might as well spend them.
thanks guys for mint bags, i do have many questions to ask yet?. hopefully you guys could help me again....i will check what i am gonna to ask?.
mint bag for mint bag, is it better to open it up. choose the good one. keep them inside the tubes and spend the rest?. or just leave the bag close forever?.
so many disappointing things and yet people are still buying mint bags from the mint or the dealers. why?........
well, i cancel my order for one bag (250 pc) each of the 2008 (d) & (p) sacagawea dollars from the mint. i also cancel my plan to buy the 2004 (d) 2000 pc bag from the last chance section. thank you guys.
finally mint 2004 d sacagawea dollars 2000 bag is sold out. it would crash the existing retail price at $7.50 each to near its face value.
