This is a question to those who keep their currency in an album (it probably wouldn't apply to those who keep currency in single sleeve envelopes). For whatever reason (I suppose because it's the size that fits all), I started organizing my U.S. currency (and foreign currency come to think of it, but...) in large note sized three pocket pages, even small sized US notes. I'd like to pick up some of the smaller four pocket pages, but haven't yet. So the question is, how do/would you display it? By demonination or by date? In some cases, it is neat to see a progression of sorts, for example I have three $1 silver certificates in one page (1957, 1935, 1928), and it's neat to see the changes on the back (motto, no motto, funnyback). But in other cases, it is neat to show the show the set (by year) of say small National banknotes $5, $10, $20, $50 all from the FRB of Chicago *or* large-sized Gold Certs. from 1922 ($10 and $20). So I'm not sure how others put notes into albums, etc., also how they list them in Excel (by year or by denomination). Any thoughts? I guess two issues are that sometimes I like to list them by year, other times by denomination, and overall I don't have complete sets of anything by year or denomination (for example I actually just have a 1929 $50 FRB of Chicago not the whole set as listed above). I have a 1934 N. African, but not the $1 or $5. Holes galore. Help
My 6 note "collection" is by denomination starting with my lowest serial number (also a Star note) $1, then another Star $1, 2nd lowest non-Star $1, a RADAR $1, a Star $5 and finally a series 1950 B $20 I got in change about a year ago.
