I learned something very interesting tonight at our coin club meeting. This guy that is making the US coins in China that you see on ebay, only puts the REPLICA stamp on the coin he is showing. If you buy the coin, it doesn't have the stamp on it when you get it. Very interesting.

I heard this too. You find this guy all over eBay. When I typed in "Trade Dollar" One eBay sorted by "price: lowest first" I had to sort through 6 consecutive pages of nothing but that seller's replicas, and after that there were some more!

You an get them either way. Keep in mind that importing the unmarked ones into this county is illegal. He can export them, but you can't import them.

Unfortunately, most of these replica sellers list their email address in the auction listing, and will offer to provide unmarked copies to anyone.

The really funny part was when he (the counterfeiter) was complaining about the guy in the US who filed a complaint about non-delivery and he cried that he was out money for the silver.

And that HE got ripped off!

    jerk.

Very odd considering they don't normally use silver for the silver coins. Of course from what I have seen of his pieces it does appear that he may be using the proper metals.
