Alright, peeps... here we go again ! It's the fabulous "U grade 'em" game. This time, it's a 1914-S Saint Gaudens $20, certified by PCGS. Feel free to throw down all comments, good and bad, along with your personal grade decision. If you like, take a shot at what you think Da Boyz at PCGS graded it. Enjoy ! Ricky B
I'm not familiar with gold. That being said, I would say 63 or 64. I kept looking at the marks on the left obverse. Very distracting.
Yes, they are distracting, but more so on the photo. Not as noticeable on the real coin. They are light luster grazes, and not outright nicks.
HMMMM, I'm going to go with a 63 as my gut tells me, even though I have scant experience grading big gold. It is pretty thou.
ok, I am a bit late to this party and instead of just repeating what everyone else is saying, I think I will go on a limb and say that I think that everyone is right, but if they ARE wrong, (which I doubt) this coin probably slabbed 65. It just looks closer to that to me than to 63. and 900fine, I think it's all of the great people with their opinions and knowledge that teach me something almost every day that makes this a great site.
