Here is my page of the type set from the mid Soviet era to present Russian coinage: http://www.gxseries.com/numis/rus_new_type/1961_1992.htm http://www.gxseries.com/numis/rus_new_type/1992_2007.htm It's going to be quite a lot of effort to track the other coins I swear... Feel free to check out my other type sets here http://www.gxseries.com/numis/numis_index.htm
That is an impressive collection. Good luck on completing it. Russian coins are interesting to me. The USSR (CCCP) coins are like a window to the idyllicCommunist life as portrayed through propaganda - very interesting. How do you have access to these coins? Do you live in Russia?
Right and Russian coins were struck in 1921. How does that work. Hobo, most of them were bulk lot and I upgraded them over time. I'm sure if I put in a bit effort, most of the holes will be filled gradually.
Wow, nice colletion there gxseries! I've got almost identical undertaking going on, though I'm into Soviet coins from 1921 until the fall of SU in 1991. I've noticed that it is suprisingly difficult to locate most kopeks from the middle of 1960's until late 1970's. You almost always can find easily 1961 and 1962...and next ones are something like 1975, 1976 or 1977. Also, some kopeks from 1940's and 1950's are fairly difficult to find... -JJ-
Here are the early Soviet coins from 1921 to 1957. This is a lot tougher: http://www.gxseries.com/numis/rus_new_type/1921_1957.htm
Soviet coins from WW2 era Great coins, thanks for sharing. I, too, have set my sights on the 'impossible dream'... I am looking to collect all denominations of Soviet coins minted 1939 - 1945. What I've found so far is that when I do find them the coins are for the most part inexpensive... but I simply can't find them anywhere. I've had a few lucky pick ups at a dealer here, a trade there, but no consistent source. Your posting is a real inspiration... thanks again. Mike
