    hi all from missouri..hope you can supply me with more info on what, and approx value of a 1/2 dollar i have. it has the copper and silver combo with no mismatched side scores...there are tails on both sides and is excellent condition...educate me please.

    This is commonly referred to as a magicians coin. Someone has hollowed out one coin and inserted another into it. They sell for a few dollars. They come in all denominations.

    how can they mesh so well? tell me it woth a fortune.....It is at all possible?

    It's really not hard to make them - all you need is a machine shop. If you look close to the rim ( not the edge or reeded part ) of the coin with a magnifying glass - you'll be able to see the joint in the two pieces.

    thanks for your info....i looked with a magnifier and i guess i am not going to get rich quick. darn! Thank you for your help.
