Hey there guys i found two Sacagawea coins both from 2000 one with a D on it and the other with a P, i was wondering how much there worth, ik there quite rare but just wanted y'alls opinion
I wouldn't say they're "rare" so much as "unpopular" -- nobody seems to want them, especially in their cash register. They made over half a billion of them in Denver, and over three-quarters of a billion in Philadelphia. The good news: they're still worth a dollar, and most vending machines and self-checkout stations don't mind them at all. Welcome to CoinTalk!
My mom likes them, I never really seen any beauty in them myself, may be good enjoyment for the kids.
Got a roll from the bank for a project I am doing. If I'm not mistaken, these last few years have been not-intended-for-circulation.
They should of phased out the one dollar bill. Then we all would have no choice but to accept them. Meow would be OK with that.
The 7-eleven shop I visit always give my their Sacagawea Dollars that they receive from other customers as payment.. They know I collect coins. I just go over them for any issues that might be of interest. I never find any so I either spend them somewhere else or add it to my bag of coins heading to the CoinStar machine.
I should have more specific. Thank you for pointing that out. Two dollars total. It made me laugh though.
