EDTA would be my choice for a coin hard encrusted with Verdigris (you can get it on ETSY cheapest as a product by "Making Cosmetics") over acetone. I am a less is more guy.. so in this case, no, nothing chemical. Just physical, the same kind of techniques you see Roman Coin guys use. I also recommend a little Renaissance Wax at the end, great product. The approved product of the British Museum.
