I have never found a double ear in five years but now it appears I have found two in a row. A 1983 d in great shape and 96 in circulated but not bad condition

IMO, I think it's important that new collectors learn the accepted terminology of the hobby. i know it can sound a little pedantic, but it's how we, as numismatists communicate. If someone had an interest in cats, but was using incorrect names for the breeds, wouldn't you want want to help them?
I act like the caring person that I am. I'm also a teacher so I strive to educate with all the knowledge I have received. My intention is not to irk anyone even though I do sometimes. Does that bother me? Just a little. But hey.. It's their loss if they want to stay ignorant about certain things. My suggestion to those that I irk.. Block me.
