Hey there, CT Friends! I hope you all are doing well! I just got two new Roman Republic coins that I wanted to share with you all. The first is an upgrade (a bit... well, the reverse is): Roman Republic, 217-215 BC AE Uncia, Rome mint Obverse: Helmeted head of Roma left, one pellet behind. Reverse: ROMA above prow right, one pellet below. References: Crawford 38/6 Size: 25mm, 13.16g Notes: Struck and circulated during period Hannibal was “at the gates of Rome”. Here is my other one it is "upgrading" (again, loose with the term ): The other one is a type that I know many of you have as I've seen a few of them. This one I was surprised to find with the anvil (listed as "hammer at base"), which is said to be the more rare variety (though, others say it's the "less interesting" variety lol). It's seen use, has some pitting, and rough surfaces and scratches, but the portrait style of BE is superb. Roman Republic L. Scribonius Libo AR Denarius, Struck 62 AD, Rome mint Obverse: Diademed head of Bonus Eventus right; LIBO behind; BON•EVENT before. Reverse: Puteal Scribonianum (Scribonian Well), decorated with garland and two lyres; anvil at base; PVTEAL above; SCRIBON in exergue. References: Crawford 416/1c; Sydenham 928; Scribonia 8b Size: 20mm, 3.74g I'd love to see any of your other moneyer implements! Or any other RR coins or anything you find relevant. Thanks!
Very nice, @Bing! I appreciate it's life and the scars (banker's marks) that go with that life. Very cool!
