Two days ago I bought two new coins, adding to my collection of damaged Norwegian silver coins (Norwegian silver coins are relatively expensive, and I´m not willing to spend that much on them, therefore I only buy coins with value lowering faults):

    50 Øre 1918
    KM 374
    5 grams
    0,0964 oz. ASW
    Ca. 22 mm
Obverse text: Haakon VII King of Norway
    Minted: 1909-19
Damage: a cross in the middle of the portrait of King Haakon

    2 Kroner 1907
    KM 365
    15 grams
    0.3858 oz. ASW
    31 mm
Obverse text: Norwegian independence accomplished 1905
    Minted: 1907
    Damage: mounted

Nice. Congratulations! I would agree for the higher denoms, buying the impaired ones are the only way to afford them.:D

I like the 1905 2K that is a rather classy design on it :thumb:

    Thanks!

Actually damaged coins are beautiful in their own way. Something to do with them having some sort of a life story.

As byrd740 write: a figure standing is all there is

From the American Journal of Numismatics(ANS):

    So basically, no one.

The coin is often called Mother Norway. But you´re correct. She´s a nobody ;)

Well if she is like the American Liberty or British Brittania, than its not really a nobody after all.;)

She has been nowhere to be seen since 1914, so I´m quite sure it´s safe to call her a nobody :p
