I LOVE coin collecting but my Social Security budget restricts me from collecting high dollar coins. Not complaining, I am blessed. I just collect silver and try to keep as close to melt price as I can. I am really happy for you guys that collect the high dollar coins and I do enjoy reading your posts. No jealousy from me. I think I am just as thrilled with my cheapie additions to the collection. LOL. Here is a couple of peace dollars I have coming in that I paid $17.99 each/shipped . Maybe to much but I do realize they are nothing special except to my collection. Happy collecting folks.
I too am working with a smaller budget than most, but still very happy with what I can get. Nice additions!
Glad to hear I am not the only one. LOL. It is fun to me and I enjoy it. I am an old poot and not in the best of health , so this hobby is something I can still do and I am very thankful for it.
I’m in the same exact boat as you OP but I was thrilled to get a 35 Mercury dime today for a few bucks. Peace coins are a favorite of mine and those you posted look really nice.
It’s never about the money you have to spend but it’s what puts a smile on you face when you do spend! I don’t have a peace dollar in my collection yet. I really just started to byuy Morgan. Only have 3!! What I do have I love!!
I've plucked more than a few of these from a dealers junk box. Many hands have touched coins such as these, and they deserve a special place in ones collection.
Interest and appreciation of history is a big influence on my collecting and when I hold a coin that has wear from the Depression era like the 35 dime, I just wonder how many times this coin made a difference in people’s lives thru those years.
Those are nice looking coins! Discipline is the key when purchasing coins as I always love to spend money buying new coins and reviewing them. From junk to MS-65, every coin has a story.
