Got my two GC wins today. Both Early Commemoratives. 1903 $1 Louisiana Purchase-Jefferson PCGS MS-63 1915-S $1 Panama-Pacific PCGS MS-62 That leaves two more gold Early Commemoratives that I consider within my price range. The 1916 and 1917 $1 McKinley's.
Cripes you've got deep pockets dear fellow. I especially love that Louisiana Purchase Exposition dollar.
And (just an aside here) most of these that I come across have been 'scrub a dub dubbed'. Fantastic pickup!
Together they were less expensive than any single one of the tough silver commemoratives in the same grades (Hawaii and Old Spanish Trail) and not much more than the Hudson commem. BTW I'm still missing those three. I can find those in -64 and -65 but that's more than I want to pay.
Very nice! I doubt I'll be doing the gold commems. And I agree with you about the 3 silvers. I think I'll never find my remaining 7 in grades I'm ok with, and at prices I'm ok with.
Two very nice coins! Congrats! I bid on the MS 64 Gold Jefferson, but was an under-bidder. Just out of curiosity, @kanga what made you pick the MS 63 Jefferson over the MS 64? https://www.greatcollections.com/Co...e-Exposition-Jefferson-Gold-Dollar-PCGS-MS-64
Strictly a price decision. Early Commemoratives are not a primary collection for me so I go for lower grade items.
