Hello Friends, Year is not over yet, so time for a new coin.... Now I got two different Tets from Gadara, both from Caracalla. Look at the eagle under his head, is't it fantastic and Melquart on the reverse. Both have also the three Graces. Have a very good evening.
Great coins. I believe the type with Melqart reverse is quite rare for Gadara - the Tyrian versions are far more available. To my knowledge, Gadara is the only city on which one finds the three little Graces in a circle. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Very interesting. I "kinda" collect Melqart, (like a lot of things). I have a couple of the Tyrian pieces, but didn't know they minted them in Gadara. Thanks for the post!
