About a week ago I went to my local credit union and as a joke I asked the young lady if she has any two dollar bills? Well she did and I purchased about 7 of them one was a real garbage 1953 one with tape and just a mess. Yesterday I went there and recieved 2 more bills. Everyone who I give my two's out to say they are rare. I just tell them to go to the bank and ask for them. The tellers hate these bills. they have no real place to put them. Also the tellers ask if I want the Presidential coins or the sackie one. I also ask for Ikes. The last of the big coins.I also give them my card and tell them to call me if they find anything that is "odd" . I can only try.
The two dollar bill is a modern-day novelty and is kind of neat but it is pretty much a joke. Last November I went to a bank and asked for them and the teller enthusiastically said she had a $200 strap that she could sell to me. She went to the back room to get them and when she came back she said they were shipped out because they had them for a long time and no one wanted them!
I have an uncle who carries $2s all the time. He has no problem getting the at his bank. He uses them for leaving tips when he eats out. He tips well and the $2s makes him memorable. Top notch service at any restaurant he frequents.
$2's are so plentiful here that i could pay for everything I wanted with them if I so choose. Personally I don't like them so I rarely use one/have one.
