I"m not very familiar with error coins like this one. The obverse appears to be off center and the reverse is okay. What can you tell me about it?

Not much to tell. The obverse die struck the coin off center.
It's still a nice looking coin.

Looks like a misaligned die error.

Is the obverse die the hammer die on these?
Is it caused because the die is loose or just the press being misaligned.

I thought it was a really nice coin too. I have the 'Getting Your Two Cents Worth' book, but haven't read too much yet and wondering what members might comment. If you look closely the reverse is slightly off as well.
