the 1909-C is a major rarity with Heritage auction state in 2013 that the one sold was possibly unique. Since then the NGC and PCGS have certified 10 . Mine is the lowest grade one. Likely rare then the 1916-C . The 1909-C is a scare coin even in MS

and 1908-C the iconic coins from the Canadian Mints first year stuck from donated gold 646 struck not all remain in uncirculated condition. Consider the rarest collectable Edward VII sovereign

I have gotten many of these in the studio lately—1912-13-14 $5 and $10 gold coins. I probably shoot a dozen of them a year. My only gold coin is a dinar, so I have to collect these coins vicariously through my photography.

They are wonderful coins mine is a Bank of Canada premium hand selected in original packaging. I am currently looking for a $5 in the same (only a couple hundred were issued and I suspect most were broken out an graded)

And I am now temped to send my Specimens to get photographed
