Good morning, I have eight 1987 Lincoln cents to post. I will be posting two at a time, even though I should post one at a time but I need to do this for comparison. I touched on this subject not too long ago about extra thickness in the date, Liberty, in God we trust. The only reason why I'm going after this is because these coins are in great shape. In a few of the coin rolls that I searched one had mostly 1982 large date copper in very good shape and these 1987 Lincoln cents we're in another role. I don't believe these two have any extra thickness but the coin on the left look at in God we trust. Doubling? I did go on variety Vista i was mainly looking for extra thickness which I found and if my memory serves me correct I might have stage b and c on the eight coins I will post. I did not see anything as dramatic on variety Vista as in God we trust the coin on the left. I forgot what the line was called that's going through in God we trust. You people told me what it was but I forgot I want to say a linear plating blister? I'm sure you'll correct me if I'm wrong that's what I'm here for. The reverse of the left coin looks a little rowdy too. Could one side of a coin be doubled and the other side machine doubling? And how do you count the pillars left to right one through 12? Is the first pillar on the left doubled? The coin on the right, obverse looks like machine doubling. Look at the bottom of his ear I know 1987 Lincoln cents are not supposed to have a double ear but it looks like something's there and then right under his bow tie, center, it looks like two lines that are on his jacket. I don't see him on other coins and I don't think variety Vista talked about this. I am trying to cram so much information into my head that I'm actually losing it,not remembering it, I do pictures when I can and my desk is nothing but piles of notes. I sometimes ask why did I get into this, because bowling is not up my alley and tennis is not my racket. But I'm never walk away from the coins very interesting lifetime of learning. Thank you ladies and germs. one more thing I forgot the reverse of the coin on the right that is issues too but I'm burnt out will somebody take over and look at it for me don't forget I'm a disabled vet so be gentle LOL
A warn die? You would figure the mint being picky on their coins would let a worn die punch new ones. When do they retire dies, until they break thanks for being gentle lol
Our mint uses the dies to death, then polishes them and uses them more. With the current zinc cents it’s worse than ever.
