Hello well since I was already on 1997 minus we’ll add her twin for some explanations..the coin in question is on the left much smaller in circumference but way thicker and weights 5gs and her sister on the right comes in weighing a hot 4.9 but closer to 4.8 with the roller marks..all the features of left coin is smeared flat..the edges are rounded but not from circulation im thinking..any help will be appreciated greatly

You can see the altered edge on the nickel on the left. Damaged.

    Weight is within tolerance.
You need better pictures and crop them do front and back of a single coin. Here is a diagram showing how to do it. Don’t zoom in because it pixelates. When you crop the picture it will automatically zoom. upload_2024-1-31_22-53-44.jpeg

Ok thanks, quick question with it being thicker in height and smaller in circumference compared to a normal 97 nickel and still weighing 5g as it supposed to is normal..I thinking if it were altered it would weight less than 5g..am I over thinking lol??appreciate your time

It weighs more because it is thicker, the coin was struck from a slightly thick planchet. Just as coins struck from thin planchets will be lighter.
