Recently I had collected Morgans and decided to submit six of my favorites and 1 French Gold coin to NGC for grading. A little information about the coins first. The Morgans I had collected over the last 15 years and paid about $50-75 a piece. I cherry picked them from coin shops and coin shows I attended throughout the years. The French Gold coin and paid $315 raw; after submission it is listed at $600-695. I had hoped that some of them came back a bit higher in grade but I am happy with the results; what do you guys think? Here are the results: 1882 MS63 1880-S MS63PL 1882-O MS63 1901-O MS64 1881-O MS62 1990-O MS63 1908 France G20F MS66
I do like the new NGC graphic design, moreso as I see more of them. Clean, uncluttered and definitive of their brand. Just a nice effort all around. Their designer should be proud. I'm not qualified to comment on the 20 Franc, but the two Morgans presented are most pleasing to the eye and seem solidly graded.
I like them!! If someone would have asked me what I think a coin with a rooster on it would look like, I would have told them ugly.. But I really love that French Rooster. I've owned one before and that one is really nice!!
