Ahhhh, been a long day ( and night ) Traffic was slow collector wise, but we did a fair amount of dealer biz, I was able to blow out a bunch of dust gatherer's and unwanted coins. I followed the advise of many pro's and " dumped " my mistakes at a loss to generate fresh cash. Saturday will bring the collectors. My real highlite so far was dinner at El Menudo mexican restauraunt with Rick Snow and Charmy Harker, then on to the casino. We played poker untill after 2:00 am Thursday night, and I made more $$$ there than I can hope to do at the show, a very good night. Purchased a GEM indian w/photoseal from Rick for a Cointalker, he can post his own pics, and I bought the full set of Indian Cent attribution book, all in a binder. I also added a Morgan to my collection, I " cherried " a nice 63 1879-S in an ANACS holder, and it's a vammer, #15 I think. My uncle Skip from Detroit arrived into 70 degree weather from -2, so he is having a great time as well. Over and out folks, pics and updates to follow all weekend. Down to the lounge for hotwings and a Sam Adams or 2.:thumb:
Maybe you are not making coin money, but at least your having fun. Don't have so much fun you can't do business tomorrow.
I followed the advise of many pro's and " dumped " my mistakes at a loss to generate fresh cash. Wow, Those mistakes might have sounded real good to me!:goofer: Well, you took a small loss on the coins, so far, but you kicked ass in poker. What more can you ask for before you start selling your high demand LINCOLNS. JEEZ, You're gonna do real good. I can feel it in my bone. Yeah, only one bone. My skull. Enjoy your time there and send me the coins that didn't sell and I'll write more good things about you. Bruce
too bad it's not the Flagstaff Show... I mean, if you're going to drive 2 hours, you might as well get some scenery.
Ahhh, RLM, my partner in cents ( I mean nonsense ) I have a happy email for you, you did good today $$$$$ Just had a dozen of the hottest wings they had ( blah ) and made a buy in the hotel lounge from another dealer, a sweetie double row box of ALL woody's, I'll sort and figure it out tommorow !
Scenery? SCENERY ??? Are you kidding? This is a college town, Tucson, and those college girls were out in force. I am allowed to look but not touch. I looked alot
Cool. I want to see those woodies. I am fairly happy as I just found a 1898-O VAM 11 and a 1922-P VAM-2P (a R6!!!) in my collection today. One was a new purchase that came in and once I found that one it inspired me to look over my whole collections for VAMs.
Sounds like a fun night! Woodies?? I'll be checking your site! I got lucky on weds night at the casino in a tourney! First time ever!
seriously, I mean we even have a convention center now ( i think ) be nice to have one here. wait til summer :high5: I think never :/ lol
You have woodies and you're playing Texas hold-em? Glad I'm not there to see it, but I bet you're enjoying yourself. :rolling: (sorry, I couldn't resist).
I would NOT sell that to a CT'er Swamped this morning, 1st break I have had since 10:00. I gave out BU 1943 cents to the kids for their treasure hunt all morning, thats fun. Collector traffic is spotty, but selling. Folks want to beat you down on grades and prices. I kindly asked one gentleman to leave my table and not return, 1st time I have ever done that. I'll check back later
Maybe it wasn't a great coin, but I think it wqas worth that much. That was a 65 and a lot of 64's went for more than that.
