I know, I know...this goes against everything I ever said about my personal collecting habits, but what the heck. I saw my friends' co-worker's type set the other day and it inspired me. He had every coin filled in his 7070 with nice toners and everything in MS and most coins key dates. My ambitions weren't quite that high, but they were jumpstarted.

So, I decided to build my own type set with all toners (except for early coppers) and all AU or better, and all NGC graded. I still despise slabs, but to start my collection I bought the below coins that day and am just too lazy and scared to crack them out. All common dates but with nice toning, even though my photography skills can't seem to capture it. I have two more on the way as well.

This should be a fun challenge. Something different for me anyways.

Cool, Guyl. Type collecting can be very interesting.

Is that 1845 Seated Lib a Dime or a Half Dime?

It's a half dime. Wish I could have captured the colors better. The 3 cent piece has a 60's concert poster effect to it. I'd never seen one tone like that, but the pic is terrible at best.
