I'm sure most of you know about the Canadian poppy quarter, but I'm trying to get rid of the colour completely. Any advice on how i should do that?

    Without otherwise damaging the coin?

I thought the color came off with wear, all by itself.

You might try a quick dip in pure acetone (from the hardware/paint store, not the adulterated stuff sold as nail polish remover). Go from the acetone bath directly to a container of distilled water, swirl it around, dump the water and repeat a couple of times. If that only partially removes the paint, do it again.

    Thanks I'll try doing that.

It doesn't really matter if I damage the coin a bit. I just want a completely silver coin to go into my personal collection. Besides, I'll always have a lot to try on :D
