Hi there. We recently located an old box of coins that has been lying around the family for a while. we have managed to id most but cant with one. It seems to be bronze with one side completely flat and the other with a head image and the following words in a circle around the outside; "GEORGIVS V DEI GRA BRITT OMN REX FID DEF IND IMP" Any clues?
we need a pic to be certain of what it is, but it sounds like a king george v coin (1910-1936). the legend is in latin, and it reads "george the 5th, by the grace of god, king of all the britains, defender of the faith, emperor of india." how big is it (in mm)?
sounds like a half-penny. the date would be on the reverse (back). with that being flat, as you said, it would make it difficult to get an exact date.
